Dr. Martin M. Mortazavi at the US Congress

On February 25-26th, 2020, The 9th annual Brain Mapping Congressional Briefing took place. It was coordinated by The Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT) and the Brain Mapping Foundation (BMF), Congressional Neuroscience Caucus, Mind Eye Institute, MEGIN US, Helius Medical and Applied Neuroscience Inc. The briefing focused on brain trauma, caregivers, care receivers, and care providers as well as the state-of-the-science in clinical neuroscience.

The materials presented will focus on educating lawmakers about new technologies and innovations in the field of neuroscience, enabling policies that are aligned with advancements made in science and technology. Millions of Americans are impacted by neuro-surgical diseases such as aneurysms, neurological disorders, and spinal disorders, creating a great need for proper regulation.

Dr. Mortazavi presented data supporting a state and federal need to use CTA (CT Angiogram) for screening for Unruptured Brain Aneurysm:
